 Al(OH)3,boehmite γ-AlO(OH), and diaspore α-AlO(OH), in a mixture with the two iron oxides goethite and hematite, the clay mineral kaolinite. Turkish bauxites are generally boehmite and monohydrate (Al2O3.H2O) diaspore character. Bauxite in Aegean region is usually diaspore while it is boehmite type in Black sea.

Bauxite uses:
1) Cement production;
2) Aluminum production;
3) Abrasive;
4) Slag former in steel industry.
