About 500,000 mts of Copper Concentrates (about 100,00 mts metal) in different grades ranging from 17% to 31% Cu is produced by large mining companies in Turkey. Also, there are many exploration companies, international and domestic active in resource development in all regions of Turkey.
Also, there are many small scale mines, mostly family owned and producing high grade ores; oxide or sulfides containing 5-12%Cu. However, most of these mines are cash starved and requires capital injection for their continuation of businesses.
